Fuel Scarcity Hits Sapele!

Moving around town became a thing of concern to me, when i discovered that there was calm movement on the roads of sapele. Recently, i observed that cars are so few in town compare to few weeks ago, then it became clear to me when i waited for over 3 hours on the queue just to get 20 liters of fuel for my generator on saturday 18th of April 2009. I thought it was one of those things, right there, the selling of fuel took another dimension as we all were asked to pay fifty naira (N50) before they will attend to us, i actually refused to comply, but later on i have to do so because that was the only fuel station that was selling fuel at that particular time. In another development, few fuel stations started selling on sunday and monday with a new fuel pump price. "MY PEOPLE CAN SOME BODY TELL ME WHAT IS HAPPENING TO OUR COUNTRY NIGERIA?". How can fuel be sold for one hundred naira (N100) per liter in a fuel station? I was not told of this, i bought 20 liters of fuel for that amount on tuesday 21st April,2009... The issue now is not how much they will sell, it is "if they are willing to sell." When i move around town i see alot of queue in virtually different fuel stations waiting without HOPE to buy fuel at an unusual amount my heart always trouble me on integrity in the discharge of duties. Some filling stations have taken advantage of it to increase their fuel price, but what shall we do to make this country a place where people will love to come because of our simplicity of operation? It is factual that there is no fuel in some filling stations, but fuel is every where along our roads as if those people selling it are working in an OIL ORGANISATION, they sell at any price of their choice because they know that you can not get it from the filling statin even though there is fuel. The current price of a liter of fuel in black market now sells for one hundred and fifty naira (N150), what a mess.

Rehabilation and Construction of Roads in Sapele Township By Sapele Local Government...

The move towards city beautification in sapele has begun, since the inception of the present executive chairman of sapele local government area. As our minds are getting ready to comprehend all that has been happening in the city, more and more developments and restructuring are taken massive move towards achieving success in the creation of a new sapele local government area. Efforts has been made in time pass to put in place measures for the beautification of sapele, but to our greatest surprise, they have been put to doom by one issue or the issue. But no matter what those issues are, i make bold to say that, the city of sapele will and continue to develop in all ramification. The major area focused here is roads rehabilitation and construction. I had to drive around town on the 14th of February 2009 to see what exactly is going on since it was valentines day. What i discovered was very encouraging, some of our bad roads has been smoothly rehabilitated along Ghana/Ugberikoko road by Oruakpa Junction, Marketing Road, Commercial Avenue to mention a few... Those spots has been so bad for many years now, but thank God for this present local government administration. As if that was not enough, new roads extension has been constructed at Awolowo Extension by Oleh Road, Omene Road off Okpe road and off Crudas Road, Ugbeyiyi Road and others later to be mentioned. One thing that motivated me to write on the present condition of our roads in my blog was because i was fascinate at which the development on road is going, it seems very fast to me and i thought it wise to let all safarians know that we are ready for a better future in the town. Even as the local government is doing much on roads, i would like to call on all private sector in sapele to support the effort of the government in actualising the true reality of city beautification. With this speed, i still hope that all our roads will soon be set aright, like new Ogorode road and AT&P Road.In respect to the new dimension the local government has taken towards massive developmenet in sapele,i would like to recommend that measures on infrastructural maintenace is put in place, so that these projects will not suffer. One thing is to develop and the other is to look after the projects whether they are answering to their purposes. The life span of what has been done also can be put in other to strengthen other incoming actions. I see it that more roads will also bring more jobs... who can think it? if you can please do...
More on road and other issues, just follow.

Free Pass At Olympia Roundabout In Sapele

Another dimension of newness has been added to the city of sapele recently. Who would have thought that sapele will be the first town in Nigeria to install solar wireless traffic light to control traffic? But you see its already a reality to every one. Some times it cuts my imagination that some people still fault the use of traffic lights control in sapele metropolise. May be motorist and other road users should be educated on how to make reasonable use of traffic lights in a city or? I want you to answer that for me... But in my own observation, i felt that the people who are doing that are not well trained to obey common rules and regulations, because it will not be of any benefit for some body who is responsible to be failing in obeying rules and regulations. The main centre of the city of sapele is OLYMPIA ROUND ABOUT. This place has suffered so many congestion of cars and motor bikes before the installation of traffic lights. This has reduced the job of traffic officers always posted to that area, Olympia happens to be the most busiest spot in sapele and with that fact, such an area should be free for cars to go through, which the traffic lights in that area has come to answer. In view of what has been done, more is still to be done in that area, like working on the bad spots around that area and also clearing that area from market functions. That point is the centre of the town it should be very nice to look upon. Banners and some other irrelevant materials should not be kept in that place, most of all, it should be free from bad person's. Because when some one comes to the town that will be the welcome turn and point of discreption. Beside freeing that area from traffic jam, it also should be kept clean all the time so that it will attract people to the city... Welcome to the nu-face of sapele.
